Sincerely, Grand Master, Won Kuk Kim SUPER KIDS BECOME SUPER ADULTS Mission Statement The mission of our after school program is to provide quality care for the total child in a safe, nurturing and educational environment utilizing appropriate martial arts activities to meet individual needs.

CHILDCARE POLICIES
Hours of Operation
The academy is open from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for after school programs. Part-time after school program is available. Arrangements will be made by the academy to pick up children at their school. Students must be picked up promptly at 6:00 p.m. Please make every effort to be on time as there are late fees.

Late Fees
Late fees will be charged for children remaining after 6:00 p.m. The office clock is used to determine lateness. The late fee schedule is as follows:
6:01 - 6:05 …………..$1
6:06 - 6:10 …………..$3
6:11 - 6:15 …………..$6
6:16 - 6:20 …………..$10
6:21 - 6:25 …………..$15
6:26 - 6:30 …………..$21

All monies are due and payable to the staff remaining with your child upon parent’s arrival. We realize that there are emergencies and unexpected situations; however, your communication and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

Tuition
Tuition is payable on the first day of a child’s scheduled attendance for the month. Parents who receive coordinated childcare or other subsidized care are responsible for their portion of the monthly fee. Checks are to be made out to the academy and receipts will be given for cash payments only. End of year statements for tax purposes will be issued only upon request.

Returned Checks
The current bank rate for NSF checks will be charged to the parent for any returned checks. The first NSF check may be redeposited after approval by the parent. The second NSF check will not be redepositing, but will be exchanged for cash and the account will then become a “Cash Only” account. Failure to keep your child’s account current will cause termination.

Attendance
Regular attendance is important for the overall development of your child and the optimum benefit of our program and activities. Regular arrival times provide continuity of schedule. If your child will be late, please let the academy know. We stay open for parents to drop off their children on holidays. We will bring kids to the academy if they have half days.

Absences and Withdrawals
Since expenses continue whether or not your child is present, there are no deductions in weekly tuition fees for absences. Please notify the academy if your child is ill and will not be attending. However, if your child is ill for a full week, a reduced fee will be due totaling one-half of the weekly tuition fee. Parents must notify the academy if their child did not go to their academic school or was picked up early. If our academy provides transportation for your child this information is required for the transportation vehicle attendance record. If your child is to be withdrawn from our after-school program, a 2-week notice is needed and the account paid in full by the time of withdrawal.

Enrollment and Re-enrollment
Children enrolled in our after-school program must have the appropriate forms prepared prior to their first day of attendance. A state law requires these forms. A non-refundable registration fee is due for all children. Re-enrollment is automatic as long as the child continues to attend our academy. A yearly emergency release must be filled out or updated and a fall registration fee will be required.

Snacks
Our after school program includes a 15 to 20 minute snack break in its schedule. The academy will provide a nutrition snack and drink for the children.

Here are a few samples of nutritious snack combinations:
• Apple slices and soft pretzels
• Bananas and graham crackers
• Orange juice and raisin bread
• Apple juice and bagel
• Milk and vanilla wafers
• Seedless grapes and cheese crackers
• Fruit and cheese kabobs
• Peanut butter on crackers
• Snack mix with wheat chex
• Cheerios, peanuts and raisins.
• Potato chips, candy, other junk foods are not acceptable snacks.

Holidays
Our academy is closed for all national holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Tuition remains the same. Our academy may also be closed on occasion for the day prior or day following a Holiday. These closings will be posted in advance.

Vacation
For all elementary school age children who do not attend our academy for the two weeks of winter vacation and the week of mid-winter and/or spring vacation there will be NO charge. For the students that attend these weeks full time at the academy the fee will be 1-1/2 the regular weekly, after school program fee.

It will be required that the parents bring the child into the academy each morning and sign their child in. Lunch and snacks are to be provided by the parent for each day. The academy may on an announced and scheduled basis, provide lunch or snacks for its students for a minimal fee (example: pizza day). It is mandatory that all parents come into the academy to pick up their child. All parents are required to sign out their child!

Release of Children
Children will be released only to those individuals whose names are recorded on the enrollment forms. Other persons not on the form must have a written authorization signed by the parent and followed up with a verbal authorization from the parent. All persons are subject to proof of identification. If the academy has not obtained a verbal follow-up authorization from the parent, the academy will not release the child. Changes Our academy needs to be immediately notified of changes in telephone numbers (home or work), job, family status, custody changes, doctors and authorized persons to pick up your child.

Illness
Children who become ill during the day may not remain at the academy. Parents will be called to pick up the child as soon as possible. To prevent the spread of infections, please keep your child home when he/she has an elevated temperature, upset stomach, diarrhea, has a contagious condition such as pink eye, chicken pox, head lice, or has a skin infection or serious cold. Please notify the academy if your child will be absent from school and our academy, and report all illnesses immediately.

Injuries
If your child is injured at school, the only treatment that is provided is cleansing with soap and water, ice, band-aid and TLC. Individual “accident and incident” reports are given to the parent to inform of the injury. Any injury that requires more than the basics listed here in this paragraph will necessitate a parent coming to the academy to determine if professional medical care is needed.

Medication
Our academy does not administer medication. Parents are welcome to come to the academy during operating hours and give the needed medication to their child.

DAILY REGIMEN:
Homework
Students will have an opportunity to sit in a quiet and focused atmosphere to complete their homework assignments. They will receive help and guidance if necessary from the instructors. At this time, children will also be able to read books, paint or draw. No electronic games or musical devices will be allowed during this time. This is to help children learn to prioritize their responsibilities and complete what is necessary.

Games
All games will employ a wide range of techniques to enhance your child’s development. From the fundamentals of coordination and teamwork to focus and developing good listening skills. This will all be set in a focused environment where everyone gets a chance to participate.

Weekly Topic and Story
Each week we will cover new topics ranging from respect and trust to honor and patience through different stories. After the story there will be a period of discussion in order for the children to share their insights and to also develop a better understanding of the various concepts. Parents will receive a weekly handout which will describe the week’s itinerary. We ask that with each lesson, parents partake at home in also instilling these values, as it is important that we work together in order to instill the morals being taught.

Snacks
Food will be provided for children on a daily basis.

Possible Variations and Topics:
1. Between instructors, rotate responsibilities for picking and researching weekly topics, games etc. The more laid out it is the easier it will be for everyone.
2. Possibly set up field trips.
3. Have movie days.
4. Ninja Warrior Night.
5. Visiting days. Grand Master, police officers, firefighters, etc. come in and have discussion.
6. Parent days. Parents teach about their professions or hobbies.
